Chamber Excited to be Part of Jobs and Economy Advisory Committee

Congressman David Cicilline has asked The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce to become a member of his Jobs and Economy Advisory Committee.  We were excited to join more than 30 other local business owners and leaders for the first meeting this week.

It was a great conversation covering a wide range topics impacting small businesses and manufacturers. Some of the issues discussed were access to capital, the newly announced “Startup America” Initiative; repeal of the 1099 reporting requirement; workforce development and tax credit programs.

Congressman Cicilline has been asked to serve on the U.S. House Small Business Committee that deal with small business issues and oversees the Small Business Administration and the House Foreign Affairs Committee which will be looking at issues such as trade policies and intellectual property protection.

We will continue to be an active participant on this important Advisory Committee and look forward to helping the Congressman in his efforts!
