Steve Lane, Ximedica Recognized by the Governor’s Workforce Board

Congratulations to Ximedica’s Steve Lane for being recognized by the Governor’s Workforce Board with the Innovation Training Award. He was presented the award at the group’s annual meeting held Thursday, May 19th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.

Lane, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Trustees, co-founded the  Providence medical device company more than two decades ago while at student at the Rhode Island School of Design. He has also been an outspoken advocate for enhancing and growing Rhode Island’s Knowledge Economy, especially its entrepreneurial community and the overall effect it can have the state’s economic development plan.

After receiving two separate grants in recent years from the board, each for $25,000, Ximedica has trained dozens of employees, Lane said. The training prepared the company for its growth to nearly 160 employees now.
