Economic and Job Creation Victories Being Celebrated

Our most profound thanks to the general membership of the Chamber for your activism and passion in voicing first-person views of the business community at the State House over the last few months.

Your demonstrated leadership and professionalism in responding to the $165 million sales tax proposal allowed our arguments to be framed in a helpful and forceful way. The General Assembly and the Governor’s Office responded to our collective concerns, and we believe substantial forward progress has been made on many fronts.

We would also like to thank our colleagues from the various industry-specific trade associations and local chambers of commerce for their focused energies. Together, we put forth a solid and compelling story.

GPCC’s dedicated team of government affairs professionals were vigilant in monitoring legislative activities at the State House until the wee hours of the morning as this year’s session of the General Assembly drew to a close. The vast majority of our Chamber priorities were resolved in a manner consistent with our pro-jobs, pro-economic development stance — which is very encouraging. Please take a moment to thank your local legislators.

Over the next few days we will share highlights of our successful advocacy efforts!
