Chamber President Attending President Obama’s Job Proposal Address

Chamber President Laurie White is headed to Washington DC as the guest of Senator Sheldon Whitehouse for President Barack Obama’s address to the joint session of Congress. The President is expected to propose at least $300 billion in jobs proposals aimed at getting Americans back to work.

“What a tremendous honor it is for me to be invited by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to this very important joint session of Congress,” said White. “Economic development and job creation are the top priorities of the Chamber and its membership. I look forward to understanding the President’s proposed plan to create jobs that promote and sustain economic growth and the positive impact this could have on Rhode Island’s economy.”
