Jon Duffy Elected Chair of Chamber’s Board of Directors

Jon Duffy, president of Duffy & Shanley, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. He will lead Rhode Island’s largest business advocacy organization until September of 2013.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board to drive an action-oriented business agenda that fuels economic and entrepreneurial development and small business job growth throughout the region,” Duffy said.

Duffy succeeds William Hatfield, market president for Bank of America -Rhode Island as chairman of the board of directors. “We are deeply grateful to Bill for his focused and collaborative leadership,” Duffy said. “He is a highly respected and accomplished business professional who has deeply immersed himself in the issues and concerns of the community. We will continue to look to him for guidance and counsel as we move forward.”

Five new Directors have also been elected to the Board:

Peter Andruskiewicz — President & CEO, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island

Timothy Horan — President, RI/NH, National Grid

Max Winograd — NuLabel Technologies, Inc.

Kenneth Levy — Sr. V.P.-External Affairs, Johnson & Wales University

Michael Lee —  Managing Director Santander Real Estate Capital, Sovereign Bank

“The Chamber’s membership base and governing structure reflect diversity of opinion, geography and business model,” said Laurie White, president of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. “We are well positioned to coalesce and provide the leadership, resources, commitment and collaborative spirit to growing the state’s economic base for the benefit of all Rhode Islanders.”
