Pension Reform: Support EngageRI

Understanding that a fiscally sound and appropriately funded pension system is essential to preserve and enhance the state’s business climate, the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce today encouraged its members to support a new advocacy group called EngageRI.

The 501c4 is working to ensure a favorable outcome to the pension reform debate by putting forth positive messaging and pointing to the consequences of failing to solve this crisis in a way that is affordable for both taxpayers and retirees.

In the coming weeks, the General Assembly will convene a special session to consider Treasurer Gina Raimondo and Governor Lincoln Chafee’s recommendations for comprehensive pension reform. The Chamber commends the General Treasurer and the Governor for their leadership in seeking reforms that are fair, affordable, sustainable and financially responsible

The help and voice of member businesses are needed. Please be a part of this fast-growing coalition which is being led by respected business and civic leaders. We are simply looking to get your support for the principles of pension reform.
