Holiday Bingo is Back! Prov Merchants Reward Their Customers

InDowncity Providence is teaming up with Providence Monthly to encourage shopping and dining locally this holiday season, and to reward those customers who choose to support small neighborhood businesses. The Holiday Bingo game received a warm welcome last year, and local merchants are excited to bring it back in 2011!

How does it all work? It’s very simple. Participating shops and restaurants are armed with stacks of Bingo cards, ready to distribute them to customers beginning Black Friday, November 26th.  Get those Bingo cards stamped with each purchase at any participating venue. Five stamps in a row, column, or across, makes customers eligible to win amazing prizes! Not only can holiday shoppers discover great finds in one-stop-shopping, but their completed bingo cards enter them to win a prize of $1,000 worth of gift certificates to a myriad of Downcity locales, as well as a runner-up $300 gift certificate package.  That’s $1,000 to spend at 24 local Downcity businesses.

Play Bingo from November 25th through through December 31st at the following participating businesses: Homestyle, Gracie’s, Eno Fine Wines, Craftland, Modern Love, Small Point Cafe, Wharf Clothing and Wares, Zop Soap, Gourmet Heaven, Bravo Brasserie, Symposium Books, Queen of Hearts, Viva Mexico, Hotel Providence, The Salon, Aspire, Flan y Ajo, Tazza Caffe, Cuban Revolution, Sura, Clover, Biltmore Spa, One Way Gallery and Tini’s.

Completed BINGO cards can be left at any participating business. They will be collected January 1st, winners will be chosen at random, and the winners will be announced on on Jan. 3, 2011.  It’s that easy to play and win!

With all these great choices, collecting those five stamps is simple, and with no minimum purchase, shoppers can freely complete as many cards as they wish, increasing their odds of winning with each BINGO card.

To make the visit Downcity even more enjoyable, InDowncity merchants are offering convenient free parking for two-hours, in the lot at Grant’s Block (on Weybosset St. between Union St. and Snow St), just notify the attendant that you’ll be shopping and have your ticket validated.  The merchants have also made arrangements with Santa to have him and his elves greeting customers on Westminster St. between Eddy St. and Union St. every Saturday starting November 25th through December 17th, between the hours of 12pm and 4pm.  Bring the kids and a camera for a complimentary visit and photo with Santa.

Downcity business owners encourage you to shop and dine at locally owned businesses this holiday season!  Enjoy your holiday while helping to improve your local economy.
