Chamber Publication Wins Award

The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly magazine RIBQ has been recognized by the Northeast Economic Developers Association as an “Excellent – Best In Class” publication in the organization’s 2011 Literature & Promotions Competition.

A leading economic development organization in the northeast, NEDA’s mission is to provide education, resources, advocacy, and network opportunities for economic development professionals. The awards program recognizes the best and most effective communications among economic development professionals. Awards were announced at the NEDA annual conference held in late fall.

Published in partnership with Rhode Island Monthly, RIBQ has an estimated readership of close to 30,000.

“This is a great honor for RIBQ, the Chamber and Rhode Island Monthly,” said Chamber PresidentLaurie White. “This publication was created to dig deeper into the events, issues and people that create and shape the Rhode Island regional economic landscape. We are extremely pleased to be recognized for our efforts.”

The NEDA awards recognize strategic communications initiatives aimed at identifying opportunities to retain, expand and relocate businesses in key industries, including life sciences, financial services, information technology, digital media, defense and health care.

The judges included a NEDA panel of experts in the fields of economic development and marketing drawn from NEDA’s territory (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont). All submissions were evaluated based on design and layout, clarity of message, production quality, functionality and overall creativity and impact.
