Chamber Helps Welcome Potential New Airline

More good news coming out of TF Green – PEOPLExpress, a low cost airline is looking to begin service out of the airport as early as this summer.

The Chamber was pleased to join Governor Lincoln Chafee and members of the business community Wednesday to officially welcome key members of the PEOPLExpress team including William E. Mayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors, company President Mike Morisi and Chief Marketing Officer Christine DeZarn during a reception at Providence’s Centro Restaurant and Lounge.

The goal of the event was to share our excitement about the fact that the airline has targeted Green as one of the first markets on their proposed route structure, pending final approvals and funding. Other initial markets for the carrier include with Newport News, Pittsburgh and West Palm Beach.

Company officials seemed enthusiastic about immersing themselves in the Rhode Island business community…. Let’s to do all we can to welcome them!
