Understanding Rhode Island’s Health Benefits Exchange

Health insurance exchanges are new marketplaces, intended to create a more organized and competitive market for health insurance by offering a choice of plans, establishing common rules regarding the availability and pricing of insurance, and providing information to help consumers and small business better understand the options. Rhode Island is leading the nation in the creation of its Health Benefits Exchange, but still questions remain as to the effect this new portal will have on delivery, cost and plan development.

Join the state’s top three health care providers and key stakeholders on Tuesday, April 24 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Providence Marriott Downtown (One Orms Street, Providence) for a conversation on the design, creation and implementation of Rhode Island’s Health Benefits Exchange.

Panelists include Peter Andruszkiewicz, president & chief executive officer, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island; Stephen Farrell, chief executive officer, UnitedHealthcare; Jim Roosevelt, president & chief executive officer, Tufts Health Plan; Domenic Delmonico, senior vice president of managed care contracting & network development, Care New England; and Stephen Zubiago, partner, Nixon Peabody LLP.

Don’t miss this timely conversation. It is critical to garner consensus among the business community to effectively weigh in on this important issue in the weeks and months ahead. Click here for registration cost and information visit.
