Take Action – Oppose Repeal of Rhode Island’s Income Tax Reform

Now is the time to make your voice heard.

Members of the Rhode Island General Assembly are considering a number of proposals that would scale back Rhode Island’s income tax reform. We have made significant progress over the last few years in driving down the punishing personal income tax rates that make Rhode Island uncompetitive with neighboring states, and the nation as a whole.

To demonstrate our concern about the potential negative impact undoing these reforms could have on job creation and the overall Rhode Island economy, we are calling on our membership to make every effort to attend a very important House Finance Committee hearing taking place Tuesday, April 24, 2012 following the House Session (Usually around 5).

If you can not make the hearing, we urge you to contact your legislators directly and voice your opposition.  You can click here to send a letter or email using the Chamber’s online advocacy tool – Capwiz.

It is critical that we demonstrate that returning to a punitive rate of 9.9% with no deductions would be a grave mistake that could negatively impact job creation and economic development in Rhode Island.
